Uniforms Are the Way To Go!

Every day in our lives we see people wear uniforms such as doctors, police, construction workers and many others! As we see many adults wear these uniforms, schools should start enforcing kids to wear school uniforms. I know that most kids will defiantly not enjoy the uniform policy. But that's because they don't know the positive effects of having one. School uniforms is a great benefit to the school and to students as well.

So what is the purpose of having a school uniform policy? Well, having a uniform policy will reduce the amount of bullies from the schools. It's like picking a bunch of leaves out of a pond. There will still be bullies around but because of having uniforms, no one could really pick on each other since each student is wearing the same thing. Students with a more expensive attire will tend to pick on someone with cheap clothes. Or another student will pick on someone and make fun of them for wearing their clothes "wrong". Each person has their unique style of what they wear and if a school uniform policy were to take action, then everyone would somewhat look the same. It may sound depressing but it will reduce the amount of bullies and could create a better academic environment and that is what school is for.

When it comes down to school uniforms, most students will defiantly not wear it. But it could be a great way for schools to set a safety procedure and keep the school away from strangers that could potentially damage and injure others. You may be wondering to yourself how is it safe to wear school uniforms? Well uniforms tend to show people who you are and where you're from. Same thing applies to having a school uniform. If you see a stranger that is wearing something different than the rest of the students, you'd most likely be very suspicious of this person. If there wasn't a school uniform policy then who knows if someone wouldn't be a student at the school. Also another safety procedure would be making it so that students couldn't hide any sort of weapon or dangerous item. This would prevent kids from trying to bring something dangerous to school because it would probably pop out of their pockets or other articles of clothing. In the end safety is always first!

School is made to be a place for education and not to be a fashion show. Having a school uniform will keep students from being distracted, get them focused, and save much time mentally and physically. When you wake up and getting ready to go to school, the most time consuming part in the morning is deciding what to wear to school. Many students will take a very long time deciding what to wear then if they don't like it, they would try on something else which could end up making some tardy. Once the student gets to school they would feel self conscious of what they are wearing making it harder to focus on their school work. It would be such a hassle doing this every single week but with school uniforms, students would be able to focus on their school work rather than looking at someone's jacket.

Some students may not like the school uniform policy and some might say that it will take away everyone's individuality. Well no one said that uniforms would take away someone's personality. There will always be the smart kid who answers questions or the one class clown who interrupts every day. Also you could try to wear jewelry or alternate your clothing by rolling your sleeves or rolling down your socks. Some people may also say that the cost may be expensive to get. But the school may provide a plan to play over time throughout the school years.

School uniforms would be a great way to create a better school. It would provide safety procedures to decrease the dangerous activities in school. School uniforms will reduce the amount of bullies around school. Also school uniforms will keep students focused and motivated for academic success. As Sydney J. Harris once said, " The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows".
