My name is Erika and I am a 7th grade student who is concerned about teens turning off their technology off for a day. The reason why I feel this is not important is because technology when you buy it its expensive so if we turn our technology off for a day it would not be worth it for their cost and another reason why I think technology should not be turn off for a day is because teens will get bored with out their technology. This issue is important to teens because teens like technology and if its get turn off they will get bored. I think teens should be interactive with things, and be able to communicate with their friends they can't always go see their friends so they can communicate by their technology but if it gets turned off for a day than they cant.

After reading this petition, I want you to sign it so I know that you do agree with what I am saying. I want you to also spread the message to other teens who may not have an opinion.

Some may argue the claim that people that want technology to be off for a day but their claim is actually incorrect because my opinion is that technology should not go off for one day because its too expensive to have off for one day and people will get bored.

Would it benefit teens to “turn their technology off” for a day? I think its not because electronics are too expensive to have off for one day and people will get bored. These are very valuable tools, and we’re not going to give them up,” she said. “But we have to balance the benefits of staying connected while mitigating the impact of the distractions, whether it’s while driving, walking down the street or even having dinner in a restaurant.” (#2). (p#1) I think this text evidence supports my claim because it talks about how we have balance the benefits of staying connected while walking, or, eating or driving.(#2)

I think teens need to have technology for safety issues. and parents can use tracking devices. The main reason in support of kids having cell phones is safety. Your youngster can call home or emergency services when trouble arises when armed with a cell phone, as well as giving you the ability to locate her whereabouts with GPS features. I think this text evidence supports my claim because I think that its a good thing for teens to have phones so they know they can call or check in with their parents any time or if they have an emergency.

After reading this I want to change your way of thinking and change your actions towards this issue because in my opinion I don't think it matters and I hope that you think the same way that I do if you like your technology ask yourself how you feel about this issue of turning off technology for a day.

Thank you for considering my ideas,

Erika
