I Nominate Senior Chief McClain for Educator Of The Year, there are many reasons for this. First off he cares about his students and their well being. If he thinks you seem down or just not in a good mood he’ll pull you onto the side make sure you're alright. He’s good at keeping his students in a good mood despite how their day or week has been. Although this is his last year I still believe he should be nominated and I personally believe he's a great Naval science instructor.

He’s constantly joking about the lesson or telling jokes that really keep me in a good mood and work as a booster despite if I'm in a bad mood. Every day I look forward to his class, his lessons are fun and are my favorite part of the day. In my opinion, I don't notice any other teachers other than a select few that are interested in their students and well-being.

Mondays are a fun day in his class, one person is picked at random to tell a joke or riddle which keeps the class entertained then we move onto the lesson. Tuesdays are for drill which is my favorite day; I love to drill. Despite others not enjoying it I like it for the reason that I'd like to enlist after high school, and this is a skill I'm going to need. It's also a great way to teach discipline and leadership among the cadets. It teaches us to respect each other and that we’re all a part of the same team. He's always joking with his students especially Griffiths and me; I don't understand how any student can’t like Senior Chief McClain he's a kind-hearted and in general an amazing NSI, and personally I look up to him.

Occasionally, he will tell a story from his past that relates to his lessons he’s teaching at that current moment; Senior Chief McClain he knows a lot about the Navy and always has a way to spice up the lesson. He knows what he's talking about and always has a reason for the lesson he put together instead of being lazy and throwing some pethetic lesson together he puts a lot of effort into his lessons. I bet you if you visited his class every day you’d understand this nomination more.

Senior Chief McClain is my nomination for a good reason as you’ve just read and now understand why without him keeping me interested throughout this year without him I don't think I would have been able to make it through this year. I don't see Senior Chief McClain as a teacher or instructor; I see him as a friend and most people in his class see him the same way. Thank you for taking the time to read my essay nomination. We need more kind-hearted people in this world like him. Not many teachers give a pleasant and entertaining experience in their class as he does.
