Schools Should Allow Phones
Students should be able to use phones in school because in my one class, we can use our phones to do research and it’s easier that way. Turning in essays or school work on phones can be faster because when someone is done writing an essay, they can turn it in online instead of children making the excuse of leaving their work in their lockers or at home. Students should be able to use their phones in school because they can contact their parents/guardian faster for an emergency. If all schools allow phones, then there could be a possibility that schools won’t waste a lot of money on computers and laptops. Children will be able to do their school work faster on phones.
Phones and tablets should be used responsibly and for educational purposes. Students can use their phones for schoolwork. it would be better if we do research (schoolwork) on our phones instead of using an old computer from school that goes slow. On computers from school, you have to sign in which takes about 5 minutes loading to be signed in but on phones, you just have to put in your password and go to the website or app for your schoolwork. If the teacher doesnt trust children on their phones, then the teacher can walk around and see if the children are doing their schoolwork instead of texting. If there's an emergency, then people can contact their parents fast.
Students should be able to use their phones to contact their parents for an emergency. If students have their phones in their pockets, then they can call their parents fast for an emergency. If a student forgot his homework or calculator on the day of a calculus test, he could call his parents and ask them to bring it to school without causing a scene. In more serious emergencies, like a school threat or shooting, cell phones could help students connect with worried parents. A lot of kids are hands on learners in school.
Almost all kids learn the best when they interact with their learning tools. An Iphone or android phone is perfect for children because it keeps them engaged with the task at hand. Whether it’s drawing, mathematical problems or science, they will learn more than when they use textbooks. Kids at young age like in elementary schools don’t like to learn from textbooks because they can be boring. With a phone, you can learn in a fun way with the school websites or the app.(“7 Reasons Schools Should Allow Phones”)
People say that phones are a source of distraction but I disagree. The reason I disagree is because it won’t be a distraction if phones are allowed and everyone will have it out their pockets. Some people also say that they are going to cheat on test but I say that most people have their phones in their pockets when people are taking their Teachers think that kids will be playing games but the teachers will notice that they are using there phones because they will usually be tapping on their phones instead of them scrolling to research.
There is no reason why schools should not allow phones in schools. Children might keep their volume up so we can the notification sound from games or text and a lot of ringtones will be going ringing. Phones should be allowed in school for a lot of reasons. More reasons than what I have. (“Should Students Be Allowed to Use Cell Phones in School?”)
