Listen to Me
It’s just a little thing; some people don’t even notice it. But when I open my mouth, or put my fingers to the keyboard, I’m pretty sure it’s because I have something to say. And I wouldn’t say something if I didn’t want someone to hear it.
Don’t listen to me to feed my ego. Don’t listen to me just because I’m telling you to. Listen to me because it’s good for you. Not because I have all the answers in the world; not because I’m perfect—listen to me because I’m not. Listen to me because you can disagree. Listen to me because you can then correct me; listen to me because I may in turn correct you.
It’s good to be bothered every once in a while. It’s all right to have different opinions. It’s all right to clash sometimes.
Don’t listen to me because it’s easy. Don’t listen to me only because you like what I say.
Listen because it’s the difference between surviving and living.
