Sports are very important because it’s followed by on tv and that bring values and respect so, it’s also a way to say good messages to influence people.

Bill Russel was born in 1934 in Louisiana and died in 2022 in Washington, he was 88 years old. Bill Russel was a NBA player and he played during the 50’s and the 60’s. Moreover, he won eleven championships, it’s the record of all time, he won also 5 trophies of MVP and a lot of others titles. He was a NBA legend but also an important activist, he protested for human rights and racial equality. A day, before a match, historique teammates were refuses to a coffee and Bill Russel boycotted the match with his team.
It was the first match boycotted because of not respecty human rights. Then, in 2011, Barack Obama gave Bill Russel the Presidential medal of Freedom in recognition of his activists work he did in his life. Barack Obama also said « I hope, a day in the streets of Boston, kids will look up at not the statue of Bill Russel the player but Bill Russel the man ».
I respect Bill Russel a lot because he had been a legend of basketball and also an important activist for racial equality and human rights.
