The government shouldn't take over the game of baseball. You like watching baseball dont you? What would you think would happen if the government had full control of what happens in  baseball? Let me ask you a better question. If baseball is getting taken over by the government then why don't the other sport associations like the NFL, NHL or the olympics. Should those companies get taken over by the government? It just doesn't seem fair to baseball players that no other big sport organization that they are getting taken over by the government. 

According to the New York Times, it says “players, coaches and other staff members will become federal employees.” People who play baseball are just working as federal employees, it just doesn’t seem right.  It should be ok for the government to stop meddling with private businesses and just let them be. Players and coaches in the MLB don’t wish to become government workers because it would just show that the government doesn’t even trust something as much as sports? Would you wanna work as a pro athlete just to become a government employee?

In the NY times, it states “The general manager would be appointed by the governor of the state in which the team plays its home games:” 

Why? Why would the governor of the state of the players' home game appoint the head coach? If anything it would be a coach that doesn't know how to manage a team as big. It wouldn't make sense because the coaches they have now know how to manage a team and have been doing it for many years. The coaches the government  would appoint would be between the ages of 35 and 45. People who haven't touched a baseball and who haven't gone through what the current coaches have. 

On the other side of things, it’s easy to say that baseball is going down because of the amount of viewers. It’s agreeable but some people say that if the government takes over baseball then it would be easy to get a lot more people viewing baseball when it seems that baseball is doing fine. If the government took over the game of baseball then it would just make the game people grew up playing worse. A lot of rule changes to where we can't even recognize it anymore.

In conclusion,Baseball shouldn’t get taken over by the government because its another face of sports and it's what people would want.would you still watch baseball even if the government takes it over…?
