The over training syndrome
Athletes from all around the world are suffering, what can we do to help. Many coaches and trainers want the best for their players in everyway possible. They make sure that their players are where they need to be and how they can get there. But, there is something that a lot of people take for granted and it is not brought up a lot and it is called the over training syndrome. This is caused by coaches overworking their players for the best result. Symptoms may include chronic fatigue, increased illness, impaired concentration, loss of appetite, and depression. These are serious symptomes can really effect you in a mayjor way. I am an athete and I do many things, and have exprienced different types of coaches and trainers. I play for two seperate teams in the summer time and I have practice or a game almost everyday, most days multiple of each. I have experinced many of these symptoms from over working. As kids we deserve the right to be able to live life freely and truly experience life as we would like. We tryout and sign up for things that we enjoy and want to get better at. We watch professionals do the very same thing, in hopes that one day our hard work and dedication for the sport will pay off, and we can be just like them. I do understand that there will be hard days in sports and that we must take those hard days as a lesson for us to become a better athete and person. But, the constant battling for who is the best and that we should be the best can hurt us. These coaches are not looking at the whole big picture in general and are really just looking at the now in everything. If we can really get them to see that we will work harder and put in our time to become the athetes and team that we signed up for, then that is all that matters. But, the constant fatigue and anxiety is getting to us all. It is time to make a change
