I'd Rather Be

I'd rather be alone
Even though my friends are great.
I'd rather drown in my imagination,
Even though the reality is more than I can ask.
I'd rather read poetry,
Even though my mouth doesn't like to be closed.
I'd rather stare into space,
Even though the TV is awfully fun.
I'd rather dream about the impossibles,
Even though I adore all the possibles.
I'd rather write and write until my hand bleeds,
Even though music brings me joy.
I'd rather be myself,
Than the Queen of England.

I wouldn't want to be a queen either. So much responsibility. I think that it's great that you feel that you can just be yourself.
