City in the Dark

The city in the dark
Shines like a computer screen
Bright and colorful and inviting
And the unlit buildings stand
Sentries in the dark
Shadows of protection
The highway shrinks and dwindles
To the green, yellow and red eyes
And wind from an open window
Brings in the first drop of rain
