Chasing a Dream
As the sky began wrapping itself in gauzy lay’rs of night
And the glorious stars threaded through its luscious robe glowed bright
While a soul-stirring song undulated in silky moonlight
And the creatures of darkness began to writhe with grace and might
Through the ink thickened air and across sleeping towns rich with dreams
Sat a dainty girl with car’mel curls and her skin like sweet cream
Weighed with longing she stretched out her palms and began to craft schemes
To obtain her bold wish written hopefully, sealed in the seams
Of a world which unfolds in a beautiful tale full of fire
And ideas are everything to a child blessed with desire
To pursue their vast passions and spark someone else to aspire
And obtain boundless heights that this one thought began to inspire
For the greatest of all innovations begins with a seed
And this girl had been stricken by an obsessive and fierce need
To become something more than she was and to always succeed
So she stood firm and chased down her dream and refused to concede
And she brought her ambitions to life, tugged them down from the clouds
Unafraid to stand up for her vision despite doubting crowds
And she grew to become a fine woman who stood tall and proud
Against all opposition unwilling to be fazed or cowed
