Siblings
My siblings count five
I wish it were a dream
Three brothers, two sisters
Not as fun as it may seem
The oldest boy
Is not very right
His mind is different
It’s an internal fight
The girl after him
Has issues as well
She doesn’t do “kind”
And gives everyone hell
The next little girl
Has had it so hard
The two siblings before
Have left her so scarred
The two smallest boys
Are still growing so mean
But with their daddy away
I thought they’d be clean
I am the oldest
The most broken of us all
Nothing about me is right
And eventually I’ll fall
We break each other down
We fight everyday
Our lives aren’t perfect
And we hate it this way
It’s sort of expected
That the boys will be rough
It’s taught us girls
That we need to be tough
We’ve been trying to change
But we have so much to learn
Our parents are trying too
But our efforts all burn
Maybe one day it’ll change
And our days will be brighter
But I don’t know the future
I’m just a simple writer
