Wreckage
Upon impact
I was stopped completely,
Watching their car devour yours
Almost entirely…
I knew nothing of you.
Nameless, I watched the sirens around you
Unravel their sound-
Sending it forward
Lighting the sky of night in reds;
The wreckage in pieces of steel and mess.
They attempted to untangle you-
Pull your pulse from the ground, the
Ground from your neck, your
Neck from the dark and the splinter of death
That was stuck in your side
From your side.
It was silent, your bones screaming to your
Children, your unborn children, the wife
That you had or never had- I heard every
Word of regret through the glass
Your death unjustified
A laceration in time
Without name
