Dream
She wanted to know,
Wanted to feel the warmth
The embrace
The kindness
The caring
She wanted to be needed
Kindness unknown
The feeling of being felt for
Remembered
Loved
She wanted so much
But so little
To run away from time
To feel the wind in her hair
Her smile
Her touch
Untouchable in her own world
Away from madness
Away from poverty
Away from hate
Sounds of pain
Drenched in blood, sweat, and tears
Muffled by curses of unhappiness
All erased
Unpronounced
Something that makes her want to smile
Give someone a hug
Or maybe just laugh
Joyfulness embraced
Like a touch of honey to her lips
The smell of an exotic flower as it reaches her nose
The warmth in the laughter of an infant
Like lemonade on a hot summer day
Or hot chocolate on a cold winter day
Something that makes her happy
In an instant snapped
Gone away from there
Free here
Creativity here
Like a chain broken around a beating heart
A barrier demolished by human kind
But different
The sound barrier
Slowed
Than stopped
Sound barrier broken
Love is her soul
Undefined
Unique
Unfathomable
Concluded is her dream
Back to life
Back to reality
Bound to the ties that wound around her ankles and wrist
What she calls torture
What they call life
She wonders how to leave
How to escape
What to do
What she wouldn’t give
But all she could do…
Was dream.
