It is a long car ride with Lee
But there is no other place I would rather be
I am going to Wrigley Field
My dad better not make the car yield
I imagine all the cotton candy I will eat
I hope I don’t spill coke all over my seat
As we park our car
I notice we have to walk very far
We pass people selling peanuts all over
Some guy even tried to sell me a four -leaf clover
I took a picture with the statue of Ernie Banks
To me, it looked as big as four tanks
I gave the vendor my ticket stub
Then my dad headed over to the pub
I saw my favorite team practice their hitting
And all I was doing was sitting
We stood up to sing the national anthem
It was something I couldn’t even fathom
Sammy Sosa hit a home run
I sure was having a whole lot of fun
My dad gave me money to buy a hot dog
The whole atmosphere put me in a fog
One of the players stole home
And the crowd was cheering like we were in Rome
The pitcher struck so many batters out
He knew exactly what it was all about
It was the best time ever
I wish I could have stayed there forever
