Once in a Full Moon
Almond shaped, bright scarlet eyes
Narrow menacingly under the spherical moon
And amidst the otherwise silent night
Echoes an eerie, terrifying howl
That causes the sharp, bloodthirsty teeth
To glint threateningly in the silver light,
While erect, catlike ears long for a sound,
Snout quivers to locate a victim's scent,
Fast, strong limbs prepare to cause anguish
And claws crave to pounce and tear,
The ghastly, towering figure prowls
Out of the worst nightmares,
As inhumane and savage as ever,
Fully alert for an enticing treat.
