Poem
They say I can't
Because of my gender
They say I can't
Because I am not a man
They say I can't
Because I am
Fragile
Incapable
Weak
When you look at me, do you see fragility?
When you look at me, do you see Incapability?
Incapability
in my gender
Fragility
In being feminine
But really,
What does being feminine even mean?
Do you expect me to call you
¨Your Majesty¨
Despite all the tragedy
You have
Caused
me?
You say
I am
Fragile
Incapable
Weak
They say I can't
Despite the fact
That we are all
Human
One people
Why we don't celebrate
Our differences,
Physical or not,
Is beyond me.
They associate femininity
With incapability
Fragility
Vulnerability
they say in the least
That
Being fragile
Incapable
Vulnerable,
That having long hair
Having a
“picture perfect”
face and body
Is all that we can have
Is all that we, girls and women, can be.
