One person,

Speak to me

On this collapsing playground of horrors!

All my life I’ve been pleading

For one hand to hold,

Walking on the outside of hand-holders

Whose togetherness

Is only meant for two,

Not me.

One person,

Help me!

When I thought myself alone

Last December

The shock of a friend’s heart

Served me to remember

Lone plus lone

Equals the together number

Two—

When you think yourself alone

Be aware of your brother

Sometime the pain of another

Will pull you through.
