Piece of Paper
I’m filled with endless possibilities.
Bound to be something more,
I could be a child’s canvas,
Or a picture on the shore.
I could be a paper swan,
Or a paper frog that jumps,
But all I am left to do,
Is fill up yet another dump.
I could’ve been a work of art!
Setting my creator apart,
From the hundred others like them,
An underrated masterpiece, a hidden gem!
A masterpiece of paper mache,
Made to take everyone’s breath away!
That's what I’d have been waiting for!
Not merely thrown onto the floor!
Perhaps I could do something more,
I could finally be adored!
But that is but a faint hope,
As I continue to merely mope,
For all eternity, forevermore,
Just a piece of paper on the floor.
