A fierce storm arrives, wind starts to pick up.

It begins to yell at the house, telling you it’s here.

Stealing the color of life from the port house,

almost like robbery, as it becomes gray and lifeless.

The aftermath is a scary scene, but the scene isn’t finished.

The wooden door and window still wet and soft from the rain.

Broken barrels laying to rest on the sandy front lawn.

Shades of gray representing lifelessness and emptiness.

Wind still howling, nearby trees match that energy.

The hurricane hasn’t arrived yet, no calm before the storm,

just uproar breaking the dull house’s heart.
