Ode to a Whiteboard MAG
Scorching letters
on a screaming blackboard
echoing long past lessons.
A pi sign creeping shyly
behind a bold letter H;
Christopher Columbus
lurking somewhere in between.
Red, green, orange, blue,
bright marker colors scribbled
and erased in a jumbled cyclone of color,
all for my wandering eyes to see,
the teacher’s voice piled somewhere
in a dark corner of my memory.

I LOVED this. I really did. Especially the lines, "A pi sign creeping shyly behind a bold letter H; Christopher Columbus lurking somewhere in between." It was such a creative idea, and it really brought me to that whiteboard with it's imagery. I like the meaning and the feeling it sets. True poetry. Very, very, very good.
