Summer Regrets
No more books and pens
School has finally come to an end
Sleepovers, movies, parties, and summer fun
All while soaking up some sun
Jumping in the pool and doing flips,
late nights and road trips
sitting around bonfires, reminiscing
Meanwhile something is missing
You wish you could go back
and pick up what you lack
Wasted moments, lost dreams
Make me wanna scream
You miss those you love,
and love those you hate
In the end, you feel the weight
Come crashing down from above
You try to be strong
But always feel wrong
Cry out for help
You sound like a puppy’s yelp
It’s time to leave the past
And have a blast
But don’t forget to smile
And remember it was all worth your while
