You held me in your arms
Only to tell me I was too far gone

Just a baby

Needing a home

The seeds you sowed

That was painted over and over
Too many times before
Yet I can still see you

Underneath
The freshly done paint

Then america took it’s brush
Painted over you

This grotesque new shade
Of paint
These flags

White
Blue
But none of them represent you?
No.
I am an outcast in my country
An immigrant in yours.
I will never be at home
There will never be room for both.

For what I am

Too unalike

For some reason I have an accent

Hi! I wrote this piece in hopes of expelling the complicated feelings I have toward my two nationalities!
