Reflections of Resilience
In shades of blue and crimson red
I sit beside my old self
Our hands entwined by a thread
Connecting the past
I gaze at myself with scissors in lap
A surreal image of my painful gut
A reflection of my inner bout
The sky gray and bleak
The echoes of agony from the past
Yet I remain strong and meek
A testament to my suffering
A reflection of my pain and strife
A symbol of hope through the persistence of life
