My Little Bro
It was a cold, bitter night
Monday, January 7, 2002.
The happiest, happiest thing
to happen in my life!
Traveling down that road to
that big building with
so many, many cars surrounding it.
Reminded me of playing
with my army men.
Going down that very, very long hallway
to that special room.
Entering, the atmosphere was like
the Fourth of July.
We were finally united,
My little Bro and Me.
Sitting there in that chair
with him in my arms.
I never ever, ever remember feeling
a great sense of pride.
Outside the world went on but
in that room, it felt like it stopped.
Looking into his eyes, I
imagined all that we would
accomplish together.
However our fate was already decided.
Its now over seven years from
that day and I still remember it
as clear as day.
I live with my dad, he lives with his.
We’re five hours apart but
haven’t seen each other since
Easter of ’08.
The last conversation was in April.
I sit here looking at this picture
and thinking, just thinking what we’ve missed the last three years.
Deep inside it hurts but
outside it doesn’t show.
I miss him and he misses me.
“It’s NOT right”, I say.
Why?
Why, do we have to be
locked in a cell?
While our, our parents battle it out.
Just WHY?
Still no matter, no matter what happens
I will still LOVE my Little Bro.
