Alive
a city, lights red and white
a soft, murmuring rumble
of cars passing below youa smokestack dominates the skyline.
a cool breeze.
the blue and purple and orange,
of the sky.
there are neon signs advertising
restaurants,
closer,
trees obstruct the view, scarecrows, not yet showing,
the closeness of summer.
surrounded by people,
hearing them laugh, its.... sad....
almost, not being part,
of their world.
existing only in an alternate dimension.
yours only, lonely, beautiful, lighted up, alive,
but with darkness on the horizon.
