Bella, the new girl, is the one exception
I can’t hear her thinking
Does she see through our deception?
It’s unbelievably frustrating.

What’s wrong with me that I can’t stop staring?
I have to be in control
Why can’t I simply quit caring?
It’s extremely important that I play my role.

Hello, my name is Edward Cullen
her mind isn’t open, so she’s difficult to read
I wonder why she looks so sullen
Bella’s eyes however are another story indeed.

I’m very dangerous
we shouldn’t be friends
but staying away from you makes me anxious
I never meant to offend.

Your scent is like a drug
I thirst for your blood
Bella, you really shouldn’t just shrug
the need in my head is a constant thud.
All she wants is to be a vampire
but I won’t take her soul away
I don’t understand why her need is so dire
she’s so stubborn and I can’t get her mind to sway.

Is the love I give her not enough
to keep her happy throughout life?
Why does she view being human as a fate so tough?
I love her too much to make her endure such strife!

This is in honor of Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer, which is Edward's Version of Twilight.

FYI: there was supposed to be a space between the fifth and sixth verses. I must have accidentally deleted the space when I submitted my poem.
