Idea Entered My Brain
Why upon the vulture eye,
Impossible to say.
He had never wronged me,
Had never given me insult.
Passion none.
My blood ran cold.
No light shone,
Upon the vulture eye.
Pale,
Blue,
Vulture eye.
Once conceived,
Object none,
It haunted me day and night.
I loved the old man,
I had no desire!
But the eye...
Impossible to say,
How the idea entered my brain.
Thus in that room I undid,
the evil and its lie.
