I ran twoblocks and fell down.
My soul forgot how to breathe, yetyou ask me to run two more.
There is so little that I cansay to make you believe.
So I bought two grapefruits: One for themornings
when it is cold andbeautiful outside
and thesweet acidity is all we have to make us face theworld.
Andone for the evenings,
whenyou ask to watch your small town through thewindows,
and I'd rather bewatching the stars ...
So I will sing.
Not well, mind you, but do all that I can to sing, and breathe, andexist ...
it hurts toexist.
it hurts tobreathe.
it hurts to be me foryou.
