Mendacity
wet as the sullen sky in the bloodbath of birth
Mendacity, falling as a raindrop of the Sun
took flight among the breast of Mother Earth
gave the Kings their last rites before mischief done
By retribution, such that Karma gave her own daughter
To Hell. Bubble, bubble, boil and toil, in such fire not known
by that which she was born of—humanity’s virus water
and here to revel in depth of sin, until her face lied as a crone
saved her was the same the burned her, the crimson of her royal line
child of the burning bright, accepted as a pagan in the land, à duex
and the cemeteries grew and groaned, this Mendacity divine
shuddered as her hair grew bright as fire, red as blood—lovely too.
nothing gone but her humanity, Father cried
falling as a raindrop of the sun, fierce as justice right
“I’m losing you and it’s effortless…” She lied.
And where they flickered, fallen, were lines of guiltless white
