Together Apart
I sit on the banks of the pond,
it's dark,
and you're there,
so we dance a fine waltz,
while the moon glows his smile at our backs,
I lay in a meadow,
it's light,
and you're there,
so we dream about clouds,
while the bristly wheat hugs at our sides,
I perch on a mountain,
it's cold,
and you're there,
so we breathe and we kiss,
while the still solemn air nips our ears,
I dream and I dream,
I forget,
but you're there,
your wisps always trailing behind.
