Skeleton MAG
It started with words
not sticks or stones
But look at her
just skin and bones
She thought she could be beautiful
if only she was thin
First an empty stomach once
and then again, again
They laughed at her, that's all it took
to decide she'd show them all
But instead of standing strong
she tripped and took the fall
She's handing over everything
on an empty silver plate
Exhibit A for all to see
today that's what she ate
Just one less pound she promised,
she wouldn't fail herself
But now that isn't good enough
each goal a bigger wealth
Standing at the crossroads;
life and death as ends
Confused and beaten down
she can't see past the bend
She's lost and slowly fading
hunger and will collide
Two paths and no way back
a battle fights inside
The choice is hers
to lose or win
And on the choice
her life depends
It started with words
not sticks or stones
But see her now –
just skin and bones.
