Knowing
I know that things will never be the same,
Still I know that the way they were wasn’t so great anyway.
I know that when I look in the mirror and see a shrinking girl,
She’ll never been good enough, shrinking further.
I know what’s held in pockets for the future,
But blush and laugh when I tell my friends.
I know what you, dear reader, think and feel and dream,
I know what is there and here and beyond,
But I’ll never know why it all began to be this way.
