In Not So Many Words
hours, minutes, seconds--they rush together creating weeks
weak spots in my memory and calluses on my heart
innocence ripped away in one broken start
hopes and dreams spun into an endless eclipse
as the night faded into too many sips
This poisen that I downed like many times before-
fading in and out, somehow reached the door
reached the floor; lying in my own tears
I dreamt of this moment differently but you closed your ears
All that I was; All I could be was ripped from my hands but you couldn't see
that my heart was pounding with fear as your body came near
Three 'No's' broke the silence.
That moment will never let me go.
