Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope
Morphing and falling,
Getting brighter and more complex.
You’re allowed to view for only a moment
Before the fingers of curiosity tap you on the shoulder.
And then another turn is made.
Your horizon has faded into a spinning image,
An image that is entirely different than the one before.
You marvel at the colors and opportunities your eyes are presented with.
Body vs. Brain and the Inevitable.
Your fingers trying so hard, staying so still
So that the kaleidoscope won’t move.
So that life won’t move,
And the clock will stop.
Time suspended in this random picture.
Willing the beads to still themselves.
Wanting this moment for eternity.
In the ever-changing kaleidoscope we call life.
