Done
Shredding the work
I wrote now and then
They must be gone
Poetry is a has-been.
The results are in
"Mary Beth Bourne"
I wait, patience growing thin
"Gabrielle Bustamante"
What?
Did you skip my name?
But...
I was waiting to win, waiting for fame
Pulling the ink cartridge
out of the pen
Snipping it in two,
poetry is a has-been.
"You didn't give
what they were looking for.
Don't write
those sad poems anymore."
Throwing the paper
in the bottom of the bin
I'm done with poetry
Never. Never again.
