across the miles of

across the miles of
empty
endless
space
lying awake because sleep is still a stranger
there are too many thoughts that accompany these feelings,
and i'd only just memorized those words to form an
almost believable mumble
as words without syllables would escape from your mouth,
whose only purpose was consumption as a separate piece of chaos
it's been said there's beauty in the breakdown
but i haven't felt beautiful in so long
