Untitled
Old love letters never posted,
wallpaper is peeling off.
The lamps are hanging low
and dim, ready to die out.
Piano keys untouched and dusty,
ceiling cracked and floor tiles rusty.
Clock tells time from November 10, 1978.
Plants over grown and windows glazed, that rag doll, Betty
still looks amazed.
Determination still lurking, next door neighbor still is smirking.
Red juke box is still not working playing that same old song:
"Lonely souls have lonely hearts,
they fall in love with someone dark,
there is pain and there are tears,
so they fall apart and look back on
those years that used to be"
