Freezing Over
My body is numb.
My heart is frigid as ice.
The smallest glimmer of light cannot shine through my opaque eyes.
My smile is rarely seen.
Everyone that I've cherished has drifted far away.
Warmth has no effect;
it is a dead word.
My hollow being remains in darkness.
My insides are screaming
for me to awaken from this icy prison,
but I'm afraid I can't.
My body is numb.
My heart is frigid as ice.
For I, am freezing over.
