Too Late
I’ve prayed, I’ve cried.
I’ve hidden no tears with a blink.
But it’s too late—all has gone and died.
To plead with God I’ve tried,
But this ship’s about to sink.
I’ve prayed, I’ve cried.
I’ve spread my arms out wide,
I’ve begged for Him to show me a link,
But it’s too late—all has gone and died.
This world is done its ride,
It has finally run out of ink.
I’ve prayed, I’ve cried,
But all these years we’ve lied.
Said it wouldn’t come, we’d have time to drink
But it’s too late—all has gone and died.
We all journeyed on the broad and wide,
And now it’s too late; we can’t go back and think.
I’ve prayed, I’ve cried.
But it’s too late—all has gone and died.
