Acid Lies
The sickness of
The lies you’ve told
Like burning acid on your tongue
Searing your mouth and throat
And thinking that maybe
Just maybe, if you let it be
Time will smolder the pain
But you soon realize
That dreadful mistake
Of letting time take way
You gag and choke
On the bitter acid
The acid of you lies
And swallow it down
Only to find
That it burns your insides out
Internal pain
Is the worst kind of all
Cause only you know it’s their
What a mistake
That you once made
If only you could go back
And change the lies to truth
But I’m sorry to say
It’s just too late
The lies are free once more
And like acid they burn
Never going to stop
Continuing to hurt the once healed.
