Ever After
She steps into the shower
Letting the boiling water scald her skin
She doesn't care
She's numb anyways
Steam billow around her
Engulfing her in a sticky web
Like plastic wrap.
Her tears mingle with the water
Dripping down her body
Pooling at her feet
She cries in the shower
Unsure wether it's actually tears or not
She stands beneath the shower head
Untill the water turns cold
Her skin prickles and goose bumps rise
She begins to shiver violently
Uncontrolably
She stands frozen in place
Not from the cold
She is horrorfied
Of memories she thought she had abandoned
Long ago
She wishes she could run
And never look back
Instead of being haunted
By images
Of Ever After.
