Beauty is the cleverest disguise
When unmasked the devil and man are there
And so ends the greatest of all lies

My gaze it fell on starlight eyes
Aphrodite can’t compare
Beauty is the cleverest disguise

You never thought I’d catch you by surprise
There’s another tangled in your hair
And so ends the greatest of your lies

So like Eden in its demise
You, like she, were tempting and so fair
Beauty was the cleverest disguise

In shame they watch the serpent rise
Oh yes, man has become aware
And so ends the greatest of his lies

Should have see through powdered guise
Should have stayed away from satin lair
I knew we’d be saying these goodbyes
And so ends the greatest of all lies

This is a villanelle about a man who relationship had been compromised because of an adulturess woman.

 

Note the word "satin" in the last line. A pun on the word "Satan."

This was wonderful, very good flow and meaning, very interesting rhyme scheme, I like it.  Again, your use of words is excellent.
