A Tire
In The Night Streetlights painting lines on an empty wall and a well worn couch A couch that used to be mine some time ago But I gave it away, Unknowingly in a sense Like a fresh traveler would give up a soiled gem Not fully realizing its polished worth Outside the silence is only disturbed by a lone cat No doubt searching for its place as well And I sit and watch And watch and ponder Searching my mind for a place to belong A place with answers and open arms I'm feeling rather confused by the pointlessness ot time, of space Of life And so I sit and search my mind for answers And watch and ponder As the cat screeches its final breath beneath the wheels of mankind
