My Heart-Shaped Necklace
I wear a heart-shaped necklace, fastened around my neck,
To show that I believe in love - no matter what he says,
Whenever he says something - I look down at the heart,
And I tell myself quietly - he'll never break it apart,
But as each day passes, more of my heart belongs to him,
And the chances of my poor heart staying safe - become very slim,
He's just so confusing, I don't know what to believe anymore,
Because the more I think about it - the less I want to know,
So I take off my necklace, and put it on a shelf up above,
Because I guess the truth is - I've stopped believing in love.
