Covered in darkness
Covered in darkness,
He remains a memory.
A time of once was
And will never be again.
He planned how his life would be,
As if looking through a window.
He looks out and sees what the future will hold.
Does he know?
Does he know that the window will shatter?
His view will become distorted,
It doesn’t matter to him.
He’s a rebel.
He still watches,
clings to the light,
his life,
what he hopes for.
The window breaks,
The silver pieces disappear forever
Everyone cries over what can’t be fixed.
It won’t ever come back, it doesn’t matter to him.
He still sits, watching the world that is separate from him.
A statue in a museum.
The darkness is gone and all that remains is light.
He can feel everything now.
His greatest wish was fulfilled
To be out of the dark, to see,
to love, to be loved.
We all share his light, his passion.
We can see through the window now,
To a time that once was,
But will never be again.
