The Rain
I'm smiling at you, in the middle of the rain;
Soaking wet.
All thoughts of sadness, and of pain,
I forget.
The rain is pelting down, I don't care,
I want to take a step closer, I don't dare.
Because it's something I'll regret.
You make a funny face and smile just incase,
As I start to laugh.
My smile starts to fade, as quickly as it was made,
Because I know this won't last.
You'll realize one day, That I'm here to stay,
Even if you go.
So I'll smile just because, it's you that I love,
And you'll never know.
No matter what you say, no matter what you do,
I think of you all the time.
The rain is coming down harder, and I smile at you,
Cause I don't even mind.
But as the rain pelts down, I can't see,
And I know I have to go.
I hold back my tears, as you hug me,
Because you'll never even know.

"Life's too short to be unhappy, You have to take the good with the bad; smile when you're sad. Love what you got and always remember what you had. Always forgive; never forget, learn from your mistakes, but never regret." -Author Unknown
This poem is based on a real experience, and it was raining when this happened. The rain could easily be viewed as a metephor too, because of my feelings and how hard it was becoming to stay with him, the harder the rain pelted down.
It all depends on your perspective.
I'll try to read your article, and if you read any of my other poems you'll realize almost all of them are about love.
