Stay a little longer
Laze in the meadow dew,
while the spring air rustles,
let it brush each strand of hair
to reveal your pale angelic face.
Your voice makes me crumble,
its been a long time Henry.
I'm only home when you hold me,
when my heart thuds
like crashing waves on the shore,
your sweet words whisper in the wind,
'Clare, I will always love you.'
In unison, we are aloft
on a blanket of butterflies,
but then your're gone, like magic
your fingertips no longer protect mine.
I can only breathe your scent,
from that old crumpled t-shirt,
Sex Pistols, your favourite.
All that's left is a pile of clothes
and the darkness that settles upon them.
I'll wipe away my tears as i begin to walk away,
Henry, I will always love you.
