Like it always does

Like it always does
The sun is set
By the sky still glows, golden and orange
The river is no longer crystal clear, something it has never achieved
But is black like the fresh shadows
And the factory at the edge of all existence
Continues to spew its smoke
We sit underneath a bridge that no one crosses
for there is no reason to come to a town
Where nothing happens
It is not small, town or bridge
But it is dying
In my eyes at least
Like the coal mines so abundant in years past
The adults had all become excted
When the new factory had come
But in my eyes at least
nothing good will ever come from that monstrosity
It will just continue to poor out the smoke
like it alway does
