Demons, Monsters, Snakes
The demons are scratching at the door
The monsters are growling behind the walls
I lie on the cold, cold steel floor
Dried tears stained my cheeks as I crawl
The snakes slowly slithered through the cracks
They all beg to come in, to learn who I am
Intrigued by thoughts which are kept compact
In the form of script, clinched by my bony hand
They beg to come inside, to know my mind
They talk sincerely, seductively; I permit their presence
They all became confused, uninterested once inside
They left soon after I explained my view of the heavens
I never knew the reason they were attracted to me
I was excited to hear that they mentioned to care
It was easy to watch as they proceeded to leave
I never was comfortable in sharing the air
The demons turned in to mist
The monsters turned in to fog
The snakes evaporated to dust
I will be alone from now on
